Everyone who is currently working from home, this is for you! When the COVID-19 pandemic hit in 2020, it changed the world in a multitude of ways. Many industries and companies were affected, with some closing down completely. Although the aftereffects of the virus are still affecting several parts of the world, the former chaos of 2020 isn’t as intense in 2022. Still, one of the biggest changes businesses faced was sending employees to work from the safety of their homes. Now, this may not be possible for every job, but when it comes to those who sit facing their computer screens each and every day, it was a blessing in disguise. Corporate offices have been allowing employees to work remotely for some time now, but the pandemic inspired a completely new movement. Automaker Mitsubishi decided to take part in the move. In April 2022, Mitsubishi Motors North America, Inc. *MMNA) announced a new work-from-home policy to offer employees extra flexibility.

When it comes to the digital realm today, which is ever-growing and providing more methods for businesses to work and meet online, many organizations have realized that wearing a suit and sitting at a desk for eight hours a day, five days a week is no longer essential. Many people have abandoned their employment after discovering how greatly these 9-5 work shifts impair their health and overall well-being, kicking off “The Great Resignation” movement. In reality, some organizations have attempted to compel their employees back into the office, only to be met with the typical “two-week’s notice” from a small number of those same employees. With COVID-19 still circulating, putting one’s health or life on the line isn’t worth the cheap salary that many companies are known for.

With its new work-from-home policy, MMNA has joined the movement. Employees with jobs that can be done from home can do so, with no minimum number of days in the office required. Why not let people work where they are most comfortable if all of the work is done on a computer? Many businesses should adopt this strategy as digital workspaces and Zoom meetings become more common. Working from home isn’t a new concept; many companies have given their employees the option to work from home over the years, and most people should have the option. It has not only aided those of us who have various commitments outside of the office (kids and family, for example), but it has also boosted corporate morale far more than people may believe.

MMNA’s dedication to investing, volunteering, and employing locally in the areas where its offices are located is reflected in this new policy. If you weren’t aware, MMNA moved its headquarters from Cypress, California to Franklin, Tennessee in mid-2019. Furthermore, a new state-of-the-art North American headquarters was created in April 2020, with open-and-airy, sunlit workstations to give office personnel a better environment to work. We can’t all be house plants, so sunlight is more necessary than people assume. MMNA also added more than 150 new team members. If any of these employees choose to work in the office, they may do so as long as they adhere to the COVID protocols that should be in place in every office. Sure, some people are more driven working in a corporate environment, but for the rest of us, working from home can be just as productive and motivating.

Want to show the movement and Mitsubishi Motors your support? This can be done in a number of ways, but possibly the best way would be to help the company continue to grow. We can’t think of a better way than helping the automaker increase their sales, with the first-quarter of 2022 already starting off the year strong. You can show your support by coming to University Mitsubishi and buying a new Mitsubishi model today.
