Jacksonville, FL. – We discovered Florida’s oldest and largest privately-owned farmers market while looking for First Coast Gems in our region!

Over 85 years old, the Jacksonville Farmers Market is situated about a mile west of the city’s historic downtown. This market, which opened in 1938, has 100 produce vendors from nearby small companies every day. Every year, more than a million people visit it!

I discovered an oasis of fruits, vegetables, animals, and so much more when I was there.

Families increasingly visit the Farmers Market for all of their shopping needs because of the current state of the economy and the rising cost of groceries. It is indeed a one-stop store!

According to Jacksonville Farmers Market Manager Greg Tison, “People shop here from chefs to people who just want to cook at home or people who just want to save money based on how the economy is right now.”

Farmers from all throughout the region can be seen proudly showcasing their fresh food and goods, and the atmosphere is joyous and open-air. It’s so popular that the walkways are practically impassable on Saturdays.

Everyone is welcome to visit the Jacksonville Farmers Market whenever they’d want to get premium goods at a discounted price.

With the exception of Thanksgiving and Christmas Day, the Jacksonville Farmers Market is open Monday through Saturday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Sunday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. On New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day, the market closes early.
