You can have access to a top-notch golf course, a racquetball court, a private yacht club, and much more if you have an extra million bucks lying around.

The Witkoff Group and PPG Development-designed Shell Bay Club in Hallandale Beach, South Florida, officially opened on Tuesday. It is a private leisure and residential community geared toward “connoisseurs of life well lived.”

A large portion of the 150-acre property, which is spread out along the Intracoastal Waterway, is devoted to an 18-hole, exclusive golf course that was created by Australian Greg Norman, a two-time major champion.

The 7,254-yard course has no tee times, a “world-class caddy program,” a 20,000-square-foot clubhouse, a 12-acre practice facility, and a nine-hole par three course on either side.

“The course at Shell Bay will be one of the most unique, pure golf experiences I have ever designed,” Norman said in a press release.

“Completely isolated from its surroundings, the walkable layout will capture the true essence of the game with immaculately conditioned fairways, sweeping sandbelt-style bunkers, and contoured greens that test every club in your bag.”

“It will be a place where you can totally immerse yourself in the game.”

The Shell Bay Club’s membership initiation costs are $1 million, so immersion comes at a cost.

Residents of the 108 apartments and penthouses that make up the 20-story condominium building with a view of the course are automatically members of the social club, with the option to also join the golf course.

According to a spokeswoman for C&R PR firm, the minimum unit price is $3 million, with penthouses starting at $11 million, and construction is set to begin next year.

The spokesman continued that there is no choice to have a membership restricted to golf.

In comparison, Forbes reported in 2021 that membership dues at Georgia’s Augusta National Golf Club, the site of The Masters, run from $250,000 to $500,000.

“Golf is the most undersupplied asset in the Miami market, and consequently, Shell Bay is a generational opportunity to create the first new private course in the area in 25 years,” Witkoff Group Co-CEO Alex Witkoff added in the press release.

Members of the Shell Bay Club also have access to a number of perks, such as membership in the Shell Bay Yacht Club, which provides a 48-slip private marina for residents with private boats and charters to have direct access to the Atlantic.

The facility’s racquet club features courts with hard, clay, and grass surfaces as well as pickleball and padel courts, and a member’s pavilion houses spas, gathering spaces, and a pro shop.

Floor-to-ceiling windows provide panoramic views of the course from the residences, which come with butler service. In addition, the management hospitality business Auberge Resorts Collection plans to develop a boutique resort on the property in 2025.
