Plans for New Ram EV Pickup released alongside Best March Sales Ever

Ram has done it again. It seems like the accolades don’t stop coming in for America’s most awarded pickup brand in 2021.

Headlined by its half-ton truck lineup, Ram has managed to rack up its most successful first-quarter retail sales figures and month of March ever. Sales rose by 28 percent in the first quarter compared to this time last year.

Named MotorTrend’s  “Truck of the Year” and FOURWHEELERS “2021 Pickup of the Year”, the Ram 1500 is synonymous with success and can be largely thanked for the brand’s meteoric rise in the growing truck sector.

And while the accolades keep on coming and sales continue to show promise, Ram has another trick up its sleeve to make a large mark in the industry—an EV truck.

The Future for Ram’s Flagship Vehicle

The next step Ram must take to assert its dominance in the sector is getting involved in the electric vehicle game. Recently, American automakers like Chevrolet have revealed plans to launch electric versions of their most successful pickups.

In order to curb the hype and pull the attention away, Ram has admitted that the company has an EV in its plans for its flagship truck. What can go wrong with turning the most awarded truck three years in a row into an EV? We will have to wait and find out, but the outlook in the market makes it a promising thought.

More Perks from Ram

EV flagship Ram aside, the automaker is turning heads with a new appearance package from the Mopar Custom Shop, Stellantis’ parts supplier.

The Mopar 2021 Ram 1500 Special Edition features a 5.7-Liter HEMI powertrain that offers 395 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque. The vehicle comes with an exclusive Mopar ‘21 owner’s kit and a custom-made metal certificate of authenticity. There are only 250 of these in the world; therefore, each truck will come with a specific serial build number between 1-250.
