Off-roading can be quite an adventure, but avid thrill-seekers know that a truck with all the right nooks and crannies is the answer to taking on tough terrain. The following trucks have been checked off by experts to have several features and proper off-road equipment that help make traveling the unfrequented path easier, safer, and more fun!
2021 Ram 2500 Power Wagon
Considered the granddaddy of off-road pickup trucks thanks to its long history that stretches all the way to World War II, the Ram 2500 Power Wagon doesn’t mess around. Today’s Power Wagon pickup is a stallion. Based on the original Ram 2500, the Power Wagon trim encapsulates the perfect balance between hard work and play without any issues. Ram’s current off-road toolbox surpasses its competitors due to its state-of-the-art technology. Automotive experts specifically point out the Power Wagon’s ingenious suspension that comes with a disconnecting anti-roll bar, a Warn winch with a synthetic line, and a 360-degree camera system for optimal visibility while taking on the trails. The 2500 Power Wagon comes standard with a 6.4-liter HEMI V8 and is better suited for passing along the trails as opposed to a high-speed desert adventure.
2021 Ram 1500 TRX
Off-road enthusiasts waited a very long time for the arrival of this monster, but the 2021 MotorTrend Truck of the Year pulls no punches. Sick and tired of losing to Ford in the extreme off-road segment, Ram stepped up to the plate with a high-speed off-roader that changed the game in the off-road world. Acceleration is no challenge for the TRX, thanks to the full-time four-wheel-drive system and hefty supercharged V8 Hellcat engine. The TRX also offers a thick frame and long-travel suspension paired with hefty, 25-inch tires and all-new Bilstein E2 dampers. Ram’s goal was to make it the king of the desert, sparing no expense when it came to the new design. In addition, its water fording depth of 32 inches proves that this pickup has the opportunity to become the ultimate mud running pickup.
2021 Ram 1500 Rebel
Experts categorize the Ram 1500 Rebel as the more practical sibling to the TRX. Even though there is no Hellcat engine beneath the hood with its 702 horsepower, the Ram 1500 Rebel is an excellent performer both off and on the beaten path. A one-inch suspension lift, Bilstein dampers, available adjustable air suspension, and massive front skid plate set the 1500 Rebel apart from lighter 4×4 pickups. The Ram 1500 Rebel also offers drivers 33-inch tires and an electronic locking rear differential. A 5.7-liter HEMI V8 engine or light-duty diesel engine are both optional upgrades to the standard V6. Providing the perfect balance, the 1500 Rebel isn’t so special that it compromises everyday riding and handling. From this list, the Ram 1500 Rebel is the easiest to live with for daily drivers.
