When planning a holiday vacation, many trip-goers happily trade dazzling snow for sparkly sand beaches and warm breezes. Visitors have always been intrigued by the way Floridians mix their well-known beaches and warm weather with the best of the holidays. Commonly known as the home of the world’s most famous beaches, Daytona Beach, Florida, is a surprising holiday destination that hosts a season of beautiful light displays, along with 23 miles of Atlantic Ocean coastline and inland fun.
The “World’s Most Famous Beach” has become one of the most popular racing destinations since 1929, when Major Henry Segrave set his final land speed record on its famous white sand. From mid-November through December 2021, Daytona International Speedway is transformed into a winter wonderland slow ride through a dazzling display of over a million holiday lights. The event is called the ‘Magic of Lights™.’ With several locations spread across the U.S., guests are able to drive through a 1.5-mile light show that uses digital animation and the latest LED technology to create several different landscapes. Scenes include Joy to the World, the Enchanting Tunnel of Lights, 12 Days of Christmas, Snowflake Forest, and 200-foot Candy Cane Lane. Every year, guests are treated to new displays along with their traditional favorites.
Visitors can stroll across the pedestrian walkway or drive through the boulevard into a million square feet of restaurants, world-class shops, entertainment, and hotel accommodations at ONE DAYTONA. Each weekend introduces new family-friendly events from live entertainment and performances to special meals and shopping. Guests can stay on-site at the Daytona Autograph Collection Hotel or at Fairfield Inn & Suites Daytona Beach Speedway/Airport for a hands-on festive holiday and race-fan experience.
