The National Hurricane Center predicts that by the end of the week, Tropical Depression 13 in the Atlantic Ocean will strengthen into a strong Category 4 hurricane.

Lee, the following name on the list for the 2023 Atlantic hurricane season, will be given to it after it is designated as a named storm.

Invest 95L, the depression’s previous name, is currently situated 1,425 miles east of the Lesser Antilles. It has a minimum central pressure of 1008 mb and maximum sustained winds of 35 mph.

The depression is expected to become a significant Cat. 4 hurricane by this weekend and might have an impact on the Leeward Islands by that time, the National Hurricane Center (NHC) stated in an alert on Tuesday. The environmental circumstances surrounding the depression look to be favorable for intensification.

“While it is too soon to determine the location and magnitude of these possible impacts, interests in this area should monitor the progress of the depression and updates to the forecast,” the NHC said.

Where is Hurricane Lee headed in the future? Will Florida be affected?

The depression will most certainly rapidly intensify throughout the week, growing into a major Category 4 hurricane, and moving generally toward the southeastern United States, in particular Florida, according to the present track cone.

“Here’s the deal. We don’t know a whole lot about where it’s ultimately going to go,” FOX 35 Storm Team Chief Meteorologist Jayme King said. “The forecast models have generally been curving this back on out to sea, but with something this strong, we obviously got to keep an eye on it.”

It’s crucial to keep in mind that storm information and the analysis of its track may alter during the next few days.
