It’s evident from fans’ ongoing analysis of the Grand Theft Auto 6 teaser that there are several allusions to actual people and events.
Rockstar’s rendition of Florida, the state of Leonida, and Miami, the neon-lit streets of Vice City, are the destinations of GTA 6.
Although the trailer portrays Florida culture in its entirety, some fans have identified a few scenes that appear to be straight out of actual events. The most prominent one is an obvious allusion to the “Florida Joker,” a tattoo model whose arrest picture from 2017 went viral due to facial tattoos and bright green hair.
However, there’s more. The image of the woman in the trailer brandishing two hammers has drawn comparisons from fans to a real-life woman who appears to be doing the same thing but is from Los Angeles rather than Miami.
The teaser features numerous images of alligators prowling around buildings, just as they sometimes do in Florida. Some photos appear to have been influenced by local news reports on the strange and interesting events occurring in the state.
The image of the unclothed man watering his lawn appears to be a parody of news stories from 2018 about a nude Florida man who performed yard chores. Indeed, it appears that the video of the lady dancing atop a moving automobile was also influenced by actual events.
The X/Twitter account @CGHchannel shared a helpful collection of pictures that highlight how striking the similarities are.
Rockstar is well-known for its Grand Theft Auto series’ parodies of American culture, and the GTA 6 video suggests that the developer is going all out. If the trailer is any indication, Leonida is going to have a lot of “Florida man” moments.
After 12 years, in 2025, GTA 6 will be released. These allusions to actual events are included in the trailer as part of what appears to be a critique of our contemporary fixation with social media, even though the world has changed much since 2013. ‘Florida man’ clips are analyzed from the perspective of the TikTok generation. Or should we call this man, Leonida?
In less than a day, the official GTA 6 teaser has received an astounding 66 million views, setting a new record. The PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S platforms are the only ones mentioned in the 2025 release window provided by parent firm Take-Two and Rockstar, possibly leaving PC gamers out in the cold.
