To Infinity and Beyond! Here’s What’s Coming to Disney and Universal

Announcements were made that are sure to bring a smile to any Disney and Universal park enthusiasts. New rides in well-beloved parks are opening, and the excitement can hardly be contained. Ready to renew or buy a Disney or Universal pass? Let’s go! 

What’s Coming to Disney World 

Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is a 14 acres land; making it the most extensive area at Disney World. This ride will give families and friends the ability to transport to a never-before-seen planet with two new attractions, Rise of the Resistance, which is set to open later on Dec. 5, 2019. It is believed that Disney will debut the next generation of all-electric, life-like animatronics called A1000s in this new land.

Mike and Sulley Meet-and-Greet, which started Jan. 18, 2019, — Mike and Sulley of Monsters, Inc. have made their return to Hollywood Studios for a meet-and-greet.

Magic Kingdom

Mike and Sulley are not the only ones doing a meet and greet. There’s also the Mickey and Minnie Greeting Guests together, which also started on Jan. 18, 2019. It is part of Mickey & Minnie’s Surprise Celebration, Mickey turned 90 this year, and these two love birds, are greeting guests at the Town Square Theater, and they are sporting new outfits! 

Pluto headed to Pete’s Silly Sideshow in Storybook Circus on Jan. 18, 2019. Do you want to meet Pluto? Head to Fantasyland to meet him.

Epcot

Epcot Forever is opening Oct. 1, 2019. Reflections of Earth was replaced by a limited-time fireworks show, Epcot Forever. The show is set to focus on the fun (and music) of Epcot’s past and its present attractions. The show will feature unique kites, laser, light effects, and fireworks. The fireworks will be environmentally-friendly since they are made out of cornmeal instead of cardboard.

Walt Disney Imagineering is presenting the Epcot Experience on Oct. 1, 2019. Guests will be able to envision Epcot’s future plans at a new experience center which is inside the Odyssey Events Pavilion. It will feature interactive exhibits that will reveal details about Epcot’s upcoming transformation.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Hakuna Matata Time Dance Party started Jan. 18, 2019. It is a dance-along with Timon and Rafiki to celebrate The Lion King’s 25th anniversary.

The Tree of Life Projection Show is showing through Sept. 30, 2019. The Tree of Life is getting a new projection show. It is paying tribute to the special anniversary of “The Lion King.”

Universal’s Islands of Adventure

Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure is open! Hop on Hagrid’s motorbike for a wild roller coaster ride that will have passengers soaring along with a lot of Wizarding World’s most magical creatures. 

Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure is where Dragon Challenge was located inside the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Hogsmeade. This “highly-themed coaster experience” will involve guests to its full capacity in the Wizarding World — including the Forbidden Forest! There they will encounter favorite characters and other creatures while going 50 mph!

Universal Studios Florida

TODAY Cafe is now open. Step inside to a recreated Studio 1A, where the TODAY Show broadcasts live, for a quick bite! The themed cafe is serving up fresh pastries, sandwiches, salads and coffee.
