South Florida boasts warm weather all year round, a beach close by, and some of the greatest new restaurants in the South, according to Yelp.
And you believed that life couldn’t get much better here.
Based on user evaluations, Yelp’s 25 greatest New Restaurants in the South compiled the greatest new restaurants and determined the biggest trends in Southern cuisine from “Austin to Atlanta and Nashville to New Orleans”.
The top slot was taken by Nashville, Tennessee’s Noko, an Asian grill. The only location in Florida to rate higher than our local establishments was Nami, located in Orlando, at #3. The Florida positions on the list were completed by Tampa’s Predalina, who secured the #16 position.
Fortunately for us, two eateries in Miami and one in Pembroke Pines are included in the rankings. And among the top 10 are two of them.
They are listed in rank order:
Ossobuco (#6)
Location: Miami, Florida 33127, 62 NW 27th St.
Chef and grill master Guillermo Eleicegui’s innovative grilled cuisine is the specialty of this Wynwood hotspot.
On its website, it states that patrons may anticipate “a global cuisine focused on the fines meats, using the best techniques of the open fire, in communion with organic and seasonal vegetables.”
“This Michelin-recognized newcomer specializes in wood-fired meats and seafood that have Yelpers and critics swooning,” according to Yelp.
Brandon’s African-American Bistro (#8)
Location: Pembroke Pines, Florida 33026, 207 N Hiatus Road
“Majority-owned by former NBA star Brandon Knight, this small, welcoming spot features scrumptious Southern home cooking,” according to Yelp.
The menu offers bite-sized happy hour treats, such as mac & cheese, bistro shrimp, and bistro wings, for less than $10.
“The motto on the wall says it all: ‘Feed your soul,'” Yelp claims.
Mayu Miami (#23)
Location: Miami, Florida 33130, 177 SW 7th St.
According to its website, this location is named after the Quechua word for the celestial sky river, emphasizing its dedication to a cuisine influenced by “ancient Inca civilizations.”
“Sumptuous Peruvian/Andean dishes are ready for their closeup at this buzzy new addition to the Brickell restaurant scene,” according to Yelp.
