Following President Donald Trump’s arrival in South Florida to attend the LIV Golf tournament at his namesake club, drivers in Doral experienced traffic delays Thursday afternoon.

Trump arrived to Trump National Doral Golf Club Thursday afternoon after landing at Miami International Airport.

A flat tire on one of Marine One’s wheels caused a small disruption to his flying arrangements at the airport. In order to continue his journey to Doral, the president was promptly transferred to a different chopper.

Officials from the golf club constructed a special helipad so the president could land.

Even though he took a helicopter, there were still delays for local traffic close to the golf course.

The tournament and the president’s visit caused traffic jams in the eastbound and westbound lanes of Northwest 36th Street between Northwest 79th and 87th avenues.

Trump is anticipated to attend the event on Thursday evening and eat supper at the resort.

Trump expressed his desire for the PGA Tour and LIV to work together in a press conference on Thursday.

He is traveling at a time when his tariff proposals caused Wall Street to plummet.

Trump declared broad tariffs on any nations doing business with the US on Wednesday. His executive order imposes a 10 percent tax on all U.S. trading partners, with higher rates applied to those that are considered the “worst offenders” in terms of trade deficits.

The Trump administration contends that the global economy needs to be reshaped.

“In the White House, you have to have faith in Donald Trump. They placed him there for that reason. Howard Lutnick, the secretary of commerce, answered, “Let him fix it.”

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt stated, “As the president stated yesterday, this is in fact a national emergency, and America will no longer be deceived by nations around the world.”

The largest Dow wipeout since 2020 occurred when the Dow closed 1,600 points lower.

Trump remains committed to his policies in spite of the market turbulence.

“There will be a market boom. The stock will rise sharply. The rest of the world wants to know if they can strike a deal because the country is about to grow. Prior to traveling to South Florida, Trump told reporters.

On Thursday, international markets were also plunging.

The average American household will pay an additional $2,100 year as a result of the tariffs, according to a research from the nonpartisan Tax Foundation. Cost estimates from other sources are significantly higher.

There has been bipartisan opposition to Trump’s idea.

According to U.S. Senator Tim Kaine (D-VA), “the imposition of tariffs does nothing more than put a tax on American families.”

“Foreign governments are not punished by tariffs. The U.S. Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) stated, “They punish American families.”

Countries affected by the tariffs did not appear to be reversing their stance on a global scale.

According to Prime Minister Mark Carney of Canada, “we will fight to bring each of these tariffs to an end.”

Our trade relationship with the United States is equitable and well-balanced. British Prime Minister Keir Starmer stated, “We will continue to negotiate for the best deal for Britain on an economic prosperity deal that strengthens our current trading relationship.”

Trump will spend the weekend at Mar-a-Lago in West Palm Beach following his dinner and tournament.
