Publix Super Markets and Special Olympics Florida are reuniting in a mission-driven partnership to support Special Olympics athletes in the southeast U.S. and Florida.

The annual Torch Icon Campaign at Publix, which unites Publix employees, consumers, and local communities to assist over 75,000 Special Olympics athletes in Florida and abroad, will take place from January 10 to January 19, 2025. In 1993, the first Torch Icon Campaign took place.

Customers who visit their neighborhood Publix throughout the campaign can make a donation to support the athletes in their state. Over $25 in coupon savings, including special discounts on Procter & Gamble products including Pampers, Bounty, Crest, Tampax, Olay, and Old Spice, will be given to all donors. As little as $1 or a predetermined amount can be donated at the register when checking out.

Through the Torch Icon Campaign, which has collected over $76 million since 1993, Special Olympics participants have been able to show courage, improve their physical and mental health, and share the power of sports with their loved ones and the community. For over 50 years, Publix has been a supporter of Special Olympics Florida and its athletes.

Publix has a long history of enhancing the quality of life for those with intellectual disabilities. It has evaluated each associate’s ability for decades and employs a large number of Special Olympics competitors.

Hannah Herring, the public relations manager for Publix, stated, “We are proud to keep supporting Special Olympics Florida in showcasing the amazing abilities and gifts of its athletes and all individuals with intellectual disabilities. Our associates are proud to support Special Olympics’ mission and eagerly await the annual Torch Icon Campaign.”

Over 75,000 athletes who compete at the local, state, national, and international levels are served by Special Olympics Florida. At no expense to the athletes or their families, it offers its athletes year-round sports training and competition, vital health tests, and transformative leadership programs.
