There’s pollen on your automobile and in the air. You’re not alone if your allergies are causing you misery already. According to a recent analysis by the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America, early blooming trees and flowers are causing allergy seasons to lengthen and intensify.

The 2024 Allergy Capitals research states that some of the most difficult metro regions for allergy patients are in Florida. Eight cities in Florida made it into the top 50 out of 100 Metro regions.

Orlando was rated as “worse than average” overall and placed 16th on the list.

According to the AAFA survey, the number of allergy specialists working in a city, over-the-count sales of medications, and pollen counts were used to rank the cities.

Although Orlando’s pollen score was deemed “average” by AAFA, the survey did discover that Orlando had a high volume of sales for allergy drugs.

In Florida, one of the main issues is oak tree pollen. According to the University of Florida, Florida is home to 19 different species of oak trees, and it has a long pollen-producing season.

Barberry bushes and grasses are other sources of allergies.
