With almost a three percent rise in spending over 2023, Florida retailers are hoping for record-breaking revenues this holiday season.
This year, customers in the state are expected to spend $902 per person on gifts, decorations, and other things, according to the Florida Retail Federation. This year, it is anticipated that over half of all consumers would purchase online.
According to Amanda Bevis, a representative for the Florida Retail Federation, consumers are searching for deals this year.
“As the holidays approach, consumers are feeling quite giving and eager to buy presents for their loved ones. Spending has returned to its pre-pandemic level. Therefore, there is a great deal of enthusiasm for the holidays, and we are prepared to begin,” Bevis stated.
This year, the most sought-after gifts are books, toys, clothes, and gift cards. This season’s best toys are “the classics.”
Girls still adore dolls and Barbies. Legos are also on their lists. According to Bevis, boys have a lot of video games, automobiles, and Hot Wheels, but Legos are at the top of their lists.
With almost 20 percent of merchants’ yearly sales occurring in the month before Christmas, the holiday shopping season is the busiest time of year for businesses.
“We are prepared to assist customers over the holiday season, fully stocked and manned to ensure that everyone can locate what they need and check out quickly. We simply hope that customers will visit and patronize Florida-based retailers,” Bevis stated.
