Some of the coldest air of the season so far is headed for Central Florida in our next big cold air punch.

Monday’s front will bring clouds for the first part of the day and lows in the lower 70s, which is below average. Throughout the day, the winds will increase from the north-northwest at a speed of 10 to 15 mph, with gusts that are considerably stronger around the coast.

Tuesday and Wednesday will see the biggest decrease in temperature. It is predicted that afternoon highs will be in the upper 60s to low 70s further south and in the low to mid-60s north of Interstate 4.

The lowest temps will occur Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning. The mid to upper 30s are predicted to be the lows, well north of Orlando, and the 40s to the north of I-4, with the upper 40s to low 50s to the south. A slight wind chill could be produced by a light north wind, but not enough to warrant a wind chill advisory.

For the remainder of the week, a sizable area of high pressure will sustain a northerly wind flow, keeping the region primarily dry and causing temperatures to progressively rise into the upper 70s.

Our odds of rain by the weekend are expected to grow, with long-range models indicating coverage of up to 20–30 percent.

Updates on the Tropics

The 2023 hurricane season has just four days remaining, and there are no places to be on the lookout for possible development in the next few days.
