As he travels through Miami, the 2022 World Cup champion will also be met with a sizable mural of himself that David Beckham, soccer star and co-owner of Inter Miami, helped to create.

Victoria Beckham posted videos of the artwork on her Instagram stories. One of the videos showed David Beckham working on the mural with Argentine artist Maximiliano Bagnasco.

“So, I think that David has done a really good job of painting Messi here in Miami. We’ve only been here a few days and he has got straight to it,” Victoria said on Instagram. “And look, it’s massive. Is there nothing that David Beckham can’t do? He is up there, painting away, I’m impressed.”

Beckham recently discussed the significance of the signing of the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner and hasn’t tried to disguise his joy about it.

“I have always said from the word go that if I had the opportunity to bring the best players in the game to Miami, at whatever time of their careers, I would do that. I have always made that commitment to our fans,” the soccer megastar told The Athletic.

“So, when I hear that one of the best players—if not the best player—who has won everything in the game, who is still a great player, still young and still doing what he’s doing, wants to play for my team, it’s a massive moment for us.”

Not only are the Beckhams anticipating Messi’s arrival; interest in the soccer forward’s big move has reached a fever pitch across the U.S.

Fans who spent money on tickets will soon have the chance to see the 36-year-old make his debut on American soil.

The cheapest ticket for Inter Miami’s Leagues Cup game against Cruz Azul on July 21–Messi’s first match with his new team–cost just $29, according to resale website TickPick.

The cheapest ticket increased by 1,034 percent to $329 in the 24 hours following the initial report of Messi’s impending transfer, according to TickPick.

When Messi made his first trip to New York in August, ticket prices for Miami’s match versus the Red Bulls increased by 1,236 percent. This was the greatest increase.
