Everyone’s beloved British piglet is getting her own whole theme park!
Hasbro announced that it has partnered with Merlin Entertainments to create a Peppa Pig theme park at the Legoland Florida Resort. The park will open in 2022.
According to the company, the stand-alone theme park will feature several rides, themed playscapes, interactive attractions, and water play areas. There will also be meet and greets and live shows with Peppa and her friends.
Peppa Pig is one of Entertainment One’s most valuable properties. It was the top-streamed kid’s show in 2020 and Hasbro’s No.1 licensed franchise. The brand has sold more than $1 billion in merchandise.
Hasbro announced that the park will be separately ticketed from Legoland and remain open year-round.
Annual passes will be available as well as all-inclusive passes that grant admission to both Legoland’s water park and theme park, as well as other regional attractions from Merlin Entertainments.
The rides include Daddy Pig’s Roller Coaster, which will have riders boarding Daddy Pig’s red car and exploring a new shortcut; Peppa Pig’s Balloon Ride, where riders can enjoy a view from up top; Grandad Dog’s Pirate Boat Ride; Grampy Rabbit’s Dinosaur Adventure; Mr. Bull’s High Striker and Peppa’s Pedal Bike Tour and George’s Tricycle Trail.
Visitors can play in the “muddy puddles” at the Muddy Puddles Splash Pad, or venture into the mazes of George’s Fort. They can also play in Peppa Pig’s treehouse or Rebecca Rabbit’s playground, and meet Peppa and her friends at the Fun Fair.
At Mr. Potato’s Showtime Area, visitors can catch live shows filled with games and songs.
Visitors can watch episodes of “Peppa Pig” on the big screen at the Cinema. Here guests can take a break from the sun.
More details will be released later about the park’s dining venues and shopping options.
Hasbro acquired eOne in a deal worth $3.8 billion in 2019. Adding the production company not only brought Peppa Pig within an umbrella of brands that includes Power Rangers, Transformers, Monopoly, but also added prominent preschool franchises like Ricky Zoom and PJ Masks. Through eOne, Hasbro will be able to create new properties. Kiya is an example of this, an upcoming series about a superhero who saves the day through dance and martial arts.
