According to officials and eyewitness accounts, a violent storm system that produced tornadoes tore through a region close to Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, on Saturday, damaging homes and overturning cars.

A man was stuck between a boat and a concrete piling due to a storm that slammed Palm Beach Gardens, which is roughly 12 miles north of West Palm Beach, according to deputy fire chief, James Ippolito. He stated that the individual had been taken to a hospital and was in stable condition.

Due to hurricane damage and blocked roadways, the Palm Beach Gardens Police Department advised the public to stay away from a region east of the Intracoastal Waterway.

Police officers, fire rescue teams, and employees from the Public Works Department were reportedly checking the area after a tornado “touched down around 5:45 p.m.,” according to a tweet from the community of North Palm Beach.

Although there had been no reports of injuries, the village asked residents to “limit outside activity and to be alert for power lines or other dangers.”

On Saturday night, the National Weather Service in Miami reported that a tornado had struck close to Palm Beach Gardens and that it was assessing the damage.

For much of Central Florida from the Gulf of Mexico to the Atlantic Ocean, the Storm Prediction Center had issued a tornado watch, which meant that conditions were favorable for tornadoes and severe thunderstorms.

On Saturday, the watch was in place until 10 p.m. eastern time.

A man who posted pictures of the storm’s aftermath on Twitter claimed to have felt “an extreme pressure change” as it passed over.

In other pictures, cars were seen leaning against one another, a house had damaged windows, and there were fallen trees.

After the damage was reported, forecasters provided an update, stating that the threat of severe weather would continue in the watch area and that “a brief tornado or two, wind-damage and hail” could occur.

The reports on Saturday followed days of extreme weather in some areas of Florida. On Thursday, three tornadoes slammed Hosford, which is located about 30 miles west of Tallahassee, damaging homes and downing trees and electrical lines.

Residents in Lynn Haven, which is 50 miles southwest of Hosford, reported hail the size of golf balls.
