Which Christmas movies enhance your experience?
You undoubtedly have a favorite Christmas movie, whether it’s Ralphie pleading with Santa for a Red Ryder BB pistol, Kevin McAllister booby-trapping his family’s home, or Clark Griswold trying to negotiate complex family dynamics.
What might surprise you is that Florida’s favorite Christmas movie this year is…
News service for movies and television Looper used Google Trends to determine each movie’s popularity in each state from November to December 5, 2023, after reducing the list of the top 100 Christmas movies from IMDB to just 25. The list was whittled down depending on which movies were the most popular searches.
Here are the top Christmas movies in America this year, along with links to stream Florida’s best-loved film.
Which Christmas film is the most watched in Florida?
A second Hubscore poll on Americans’ favorite holiday films states that “EXmas,” a 2023 holiday romantic comedy, is Florida’s top pick this year, followed by “Violent Night,” “Home Alone,” “The Nightmare Before Christmas,” and “Die Hard.”
Based on Florida Google Trends data, Looper’s analysis produced very different findings. Looper’s investigation indicates that “Scrooged” is the most-watched Christmas film in Florida this year. In this survey, Florida stood out since no other state selected the 1988 adaptation of Charles Dickens’s “A Christmas Carol.”
Is ‘Scrooged’ appropriate for children?
“Scrooged,” starring Bill Murray, is similar to a cross between “A Christmas Carol” and “Ghostbusters.”
The film is suitable for kids 12 and older, according to Common Sense Media, a nonprofit reviewer of motion pictures that assigns ratings to films based on their suitability for young audiences.
“Parents need to know that this horror-comedy takeoff on Charles Dickens has strong language, violence (bloodless, even with loads of ammunition spent), some sex talk (but nothing shown), and drinking,” Common Sense’s review says.
“Some disturbing imagery for the very young includes a dusty ghost of the decayed zombie variety and a tall, creepy, skeletal Ghost of Christmas Future. Jokes about the Kama Sutra and its positions will almost certainly lead to embarrassing questions from young children.
Is it possible to stream “Scrooged”?
You can watch “Scrooged” for free on Pluto TV, Sling TV, Amazon Prime Video, and Paramount Plus. You can rent it on Google Play Movies, Vudu, and Apple TV.
