This week marks the return of the Florida Strawberry Festival, which means 11 days in a row of heart-stopping fair fare, cows walking the catwalks, and, of course, fresh berries in Plant City, the “Winter Strawberry Capital of the World.”

The big picture: Attracting over 600,000 visitors last year alone, the 90-year-old fair is a Florida classic.

Don’t wait if you want to watch the main bands; the event starts on Thursday. Reba McEntire’s tickets are sold out.

This is what to anticipate.

13+ tickets are $15; 6–12 tickets are $5; children under 5 enter free.

Pro tip: Purchase tickets at these Publix locations to save money ($10 for those aged 13 and up; $4 for those aged 6 to 12). On some days, discounts are also offered.

There are three parking lots off of Highways 92 and 574 on Ritter Street; additional parking possibilities are shown on this parking map.

Vehicles 20 to 40 feet in length pay $10, while those beyond 40 feet pay $15. Cars, pickup trucks, and vans pay $5.

Three locations serve traditional strawberry shortcake: Transforming Life Church shortcake, St. Clement Catholic Church make-your-own shortcake, and East Hillsborough Historical Society strawberry shortcake.
