The city that recently won the title of greatest place to live in the United States is located in the Sunshine State.
This news coincides with U.S. News & World study’s Tuesday announcement that Naples, Florida, which is located on the Gulf of Mexico, is the best city to live in its “2024–2025 Best Places to Live” study.
Naples accomplished that accomplishment and outperformed 149 other significant American towns that were also listed, according to the outlet, by scoring highly in the employment market and quality of life categories. Naples was ranked sixth in the previous year’s standings.
There were several shifts from prior years in the methodology used by U.S. News & World Report to compile its “Best Places to Live” list.
According to the publication, it began examining “city-based data” as opposed to “metropolitan area-based data.” More attention was also paid to the value and job market indicators, two of the four primary areas it employs for analysis.
Idaho’s capital city, Boise, came in second for 2024–2025 due in large part to factors like value, job market, and quality of life measures, according to U.S. News & World Report.
The study states that Colorado Springs, Colorado; Greenville, South Carolina; and Charlotte, North Carolina, were among the top five cities ranked.
Raleigh, North Carolina, came in sixth, according to the outlet.
Alabama’s largest city, Huntsville, came in at number seven on the list of finest places to live. It was also discovered by U.S. News and World Report to be the second most reasonably priced city they examined.
Austin, Texas, and Virginia Beach, Virginia, were ranked eighth and ninth, respectively, by the outlet. The latter city was ranked first from 2017 to 2019 and did well in terms of job market and popularity.
According to the research, Boulder, the second city in Colorado, completed the rankings, even though the South was heavily represented in the top 10.
This year’s rankings reflect growing concerns about housing affordability, career opportunities, and rising costs for products and services. While many Americans still place a high value on quality of life, a city’s value and job market are becoming more and more significant considerations for individuals looking for a place to reside, according to reporter and loan expert Erika Giovanetti of U.S. News & World Report.
According to data released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the unemployment rate in the United States was 3.9% in April.
For the four weeks ending May 5, Americans had a median monthly home payment of $2,894, according to Redfin. It was a “all-time high,” according to the business.
