On Friday, Matthew Tkachuk invited reporters into his home to discuss the Stanley Cup festivities, the significance of the title for his family, and the team’s response to the Edmonton Oilers’ valiant comeback attempt.

Tkachuk was eager to celebrate at home after the Florida Panthers‘ Game 4 loss in Edmonton, saying, “We were either winning in five or winning in seven.”

It seemed appropriate, in his opinion, to win the Panthers’ first Stanley Cup in front of the supporters in South Florida.

He comes from a hockey family; his father was a fantastic player who played for many years. Brady, his brother, is a standout winger for the Ottawa Senators right now. The Tkachuk family resides in South Florida for a considerable portion of the year. The time spent with family during the playoffs was memorable. In particular, prior to the pivotal game 7.

“My fiancee was there when my parents were at the house. My dad and brother were walking me out to the car and giving me game 7 tips. Tkachuk remarked, “I wanted it for them.” “That was a really special moment.”

With a 2-1 victory in Game 7, his squad set off a weeklong celebration. Tkachuk made it a point to engage in as much fan celebration as he could.

“To see how happy they were when cups around and to see, like, like the hours they put into the games and all the practices, at the airports,” he stated. “Their support is the best”

Nothing will compare for him this week.

“It’s the craziest, most memorable, best week of my life,” remarked Tkachuk. “With the parade this weekend, things will improve. I will always remember this week for the rest of my life.”
