There wasn’t much time left to claim a $44 million lottery jackpot.

WFTV has been in touch with the Florida Lottery to inquire about any potential winners.

The Sunoco Express at 2655 North Orange Blossom Trail sold a Florida Lotto ticket that was chosen in a drawing on June 14; however, the buyer has not yet stepped forward.

The winner had until December 11 at midnight to turn in the lottery ticket, but as of Monday morning, the Florida lottery had not released information regarding who had won.

It would be the first unclaimed jackpot in Osceola County and the fourth largest in Florida if they fail to claim it.

The record for expired winnings is a ticket from 1999 that was worth $66 million, or $122 million in current currency.

Seminole County in Central Florida yielded the latest unclaimed jackpot lottery ticket in 2001.

The money from the ticket will be donated to Florida’s state education funds after it expires, with a percentage going toward future drawings.
