Hollywood, Florida – Early on Wednesday, Silver Airways declared that all future flights would be canceled as part of its abrupt shutdown.

Background: In December 2024, the Hollywood, Florida-based airline with a Tampa hub declared Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

Although Silver Airways at the time pledged to carry on with business as usual, some flights were abruptly canceled as early as early March.

Founded in 2011, the airline has previously flown to airports in the Caribbean and the Bahamas, as well as Tampa, Orlando, Pensacola, Fort Lauderdale, and Key West.

What they’re saying:

Silver Airways released the following statement on their website early on Wednesday:

“We regret to inform you that we are ceasing operations as of today, June 11, 2025. In an attempt to restructure in bankruptcy, Silver entered into a transaction to sell its assets to another airline holding company, who unfortunately has determined to not continue Silver’s flight operations in Florida, the Bahamas and the Caribbean. Please do not go to the airport. All credit card purchases should be refundable through your credit card company or your travel agency.”
