The 2023 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170, which boasts a staggering 1,025 horsepower, is the fastest, most powerful muscle car currently on the market, according to Dodge. As part of the model’s send-off before the brand fully moves to electrification, the 2023 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon is the seventh and last “Last Call” special-edition car. At the “Dodge Last Call Sponsored by Roadkill Nights Vegas” at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Dodge unveiled the brand-new car.

The 2023 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in just 1.66 seconds thanks to its 1,025 horsepower HEMI engine and 945 lb-ft of torque. It can even run on E10 fuel with still-impressive numbers like 900 horsepower and 810 lb-ft of torque, and it has the highest G-force acceleration of any production automobile now available on the market. The 2023 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 easily claims the distinction of the fastest car Dodge has ever manufactured in the company’s more than 100-year history, unlike any other vehicle in the lineup. With a National Hot Rod Association (NHRA)-certified time of precisely 8.91 seconds, the Challenger SRT Demon 170 is also the first production car to finish the quarter-mile in under nine seconds.

The Challenger SRT Demon 170 performed similarly to its predecessor, the Challenger SRT Demon, when it was put on the drag strip—both cars were issued an NHRA violation letter for finishing the quarter-mile in less than nine seconds without a safety cage or parachute. The NHRA quarter-mile competitions are currently off-limits to both models.

“To celebrate the end of the HEMI muscle-car era, we pulled off all the governors to reach a new level, a new benchmark of ‘factory-crazy’ production car performance. In 2015, Dodge shocked the world with the 707-horsepower Hellcat. Then, in 2018, we did it with the 840-horsepower Demon, and now we are doing it again with the 1,025-horsepower Demon 170, the world’s first sustainable-energy, eight-second, factory-production, street-legal muscle car,” said Tim Kuniskis, Dodge Brand Chief Executive Officer–Stellantis.

Dodge’s line of “Last Call” automobiles honors the Dodge Charger and Dodge Challenger models, both of which are expected to be discontinued in their current HEMI configurations before the end of the year (2023). In addition to the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170, the carmaker also unveiled the Dodge Challenger Black Ghost, Dodge Charger King Daytona, Dodge Charger Super Bee, Dodge Charger and Challenger R/T Scat Pack Swinger, and Dodge Challenger Shakedown as “Last Call” models.

Features of the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170

Dodge used unique components to significantly improve the 2023 Challenger SRT Demon 170, including a completely new engine and numerous other improvements that improve the car’s inherent capacity to generate 1,025 horsepower, such as:

In comparison to the Challenger Hellcat Redeye Widebody, a redesigned 3.0-liter supercharger that comes standard with a wider snout and a 3.02-inch pulley increases boost pressure by more than 40%.

Patent-pending The torque-shaping capacity of TransBrake 2.0 technology enables the driver to readily engage with predetermined torque limits.

Moreover, tuning is crucial since the adaptive-damping shocks’ specially tuned valves aid in weight transfer while the car is moving and let enthusiasts select their preferred race settings for the best calibration.

The model has a staggered Widebody design, which improves aerodynamics and makes it the first factory-produced car with integrated staggered drag.
