Kia America held a press release regarding its upcoming 2022 Super Bowl LVI spot, but Kia didn’t give too many details about it. Unlike the Great Unknowns Scholarship Program and Yards Against Homelessness initiative that debuted prior to the Super Bowl, this year the automaker seems a little more hushed. That may be because, for 2022, Kia is working with a charity foundation for those who can’t speak—animals! Announcing a partnership with beloved pet adoption charity, Petfinder Foundation, Kia America wants to help families add a furry friend to their bunch with “Kia Pet Adoption Grants.” Their goal is to help shelter animals find their forever homes.
It’s a different approach, but pet adoption has gone up exponentially over the years. Whether because of the “Great Resignation” or the 2020 quarantine, people are finding themselves spending more time at home and in the need of company. So, why not adopt a man’s best friend? Or a feline. If adopting a furry friend has been pushed to the side due to costs, those grants from Kia will definitely come in handy.
“In addition to contributing to higher education goals and the fight against youth homelessness, we are also charging ahead – literally and figuratively – in Kia’s 13th Super Bowl spot to help shelter animals find new loving homes,” said Russell Wager, vice president, marketing, Kia America.
Kia America has finally released some information about the new ad, with the all-new all-electric Kia EV6 as the focus. The EV6 is expected to hit the showroom floors here in the U.S. over the course of the next few months. Not only is it the most talked-about electric vehicle and the first-ever all-electric vehicle with no gasoline predecessor, but the Kia EV6 is also the first model to earn a Carbon Measured Label from Carbon Trust. This makes Kia America the first Korean vehicle manufacturer to receive carbon footprint certification.
There was also a 15-second teaser released on Kia America’s social media platforms.
Although the “Robo-Dog” in the ad is 100 percent CGI, the animals in the shelter are not. Based on what Kia America has said about its upcoming Super Bowl ad featuring the Kia EV6 and its robo-companion, the two embark on an adventure to find the furry friend a human companion, and the vehicle a righteous owner. Although there’s not a lot of information out, we’ll see the ad soon enough. Super Bowl LVI 2022 starts at 5:30 pm on Sunday, February 13, 2022.
