The 2022 Jeep Renegade has something new in store for consumers, taking its best-in-class off-road capability and sporting a striking appearance to match. The all-new (Jeep)RED Renegade special edition is available for order in the U.S. as part of Stellantis’ (Jeep’s parent company) partnership with the (RED)® campaign, supporting the hard work of the Global Fund in the upcoming three years.
“The Jeep brand is uniting with (RED) and several Stellantis brands to help fund life-saving health programs around the world. A percentage from the sales of every (Jeep)RED Renegade and (Jeep)RED Compass special editions will help support the critical work of the Global Fund and the fight against pandemics,” said Jim Morrison, Senior Vice President and Head of Jeep Brand North America.
Using the popular Latitude trim as a start, the special-edition (Jeep)RED Renegade has a beginning price of $29,590 (plus $1,595 destination) and comes standard with Colorado Red mirror caps, black roof rails, a body-color painted roof, unique (RED) badging, and 19-inch Granite Crystal aluminum wheels. On the inside, drivers will find black cloth bucket seats with Ski Gray stitching, a console, shifter, leather-wrapped steering wheel, Trailhawk Ruby Red speaker and vent bezels, and Uconnect 4 with a standard 8.4-inch infotainment touchscreen display and GPS navigation.
A 1.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that’s paired with a segment-first nine-speed automatic transmission powers the (Jeep)RED special-edition 4×4 trim. Buyers can rely on Jeep’s Active Drive full-time 4×4 automatic system for seamless operation and four-wheel drive without any driver interaction at any speed. This trim features a segment-exclusive disconnecting rear axle and Power Transfer Unit (TPU) that improve the model’s fuel economy figures.
Regardless of trim, all Jeep Renegade vehicles come equipped with standard and available advanced safety features such as Full-Speed Forward Collision Warning with Active Braking, Blind-Spot Monitoring, and Active Lane Management. Consumers can choose the (Jeep)RED Renegade special edition in four exterior paint colors including Alpine, Colorado Red, Sting Gray, and Black. Jeep, FIAT, and Ram partnered with (RED) in September of 2021 to aid in the fight against health emergencies throughout a three-year commitment via special-edition (RED) vehicles, including the Jeep Compass and Jeep Renegade.
When the COVID-19 pandemic first hit, Jeep asked its enthusiasts to momentarily give up the brand’s classic open-road freedom for the safety of their communities. A social media campaign with the hashtag #StayOffTheRoad was launched at the time, and some traditional advertisements showed Jeep drivers putting their vehicles and gear in the garage or storage for later use. Now, together with (RED), Jeep is launching the “Red Mission,” which encourages Jeep enthusiasts to not only seek adventure, life, and freedom on Earth, but to deliver it to others as well.
