One of USA TODAY’s “10Best” State Fairs in the United States is Florida’s State Fair

There is just one official state fair in Florida, but there are over 100 county fairs and festivals annually.

A group of experts and USA TODAY readers has named the Florida State Fair, which takes place in Tampa, Florida every February, one of the top ten state fairs in the nation.

According to USA TODAY’s 10Best list, “state fairs celebrate some of America’s biggest and best,” from funnel cake to giant pumpkins.

“Local agriculture, art, music, and of course, deep-fried treats are all featured in these expansive celebrations.”

Additionally, Midwestern states topped its ranks of the greatest state fairs in the United States. Minnesota emerged victorious, followed by Iowa in second and Wisconsin in third. Florida moved up to ninth position on the list.

Every February, Tampa hosts the Florida State Fair. The dates of the upcoming Florida State Fair are February 5–16, 2026. The website for the state fair even has a countdown (182 days to go!).

According to USA TODAY’s rankings list, “Visitors can enjoy thrill rides, livestock competitions, cooking demos, and a sprawling midway packed with outrageous fair food.”

“Famous for its inventive food offerings, such as deep-fried strawberry shortcake, the fair showcases Florida-themed exhibits honoring the state’s history and culture, as well as concerts and circus acts.”

How much does it cost to attend Florida’s state fair?

The 2026 Florida State Fair ticket prices have not yet been announced, but these were the 2025 prices:

Either an armband or ride credits are required to ride the fair’s rides. Everything is covered by armbands, with the exception of a few specialized activities like the bungee jump and mechanical bull ride.

The cost of a ride credit is $10 for seven, $30 for twenty-five, and $50 for fifty. Each ride costs three to seven credits.
