Painted Oak Academy transforms each autumn with an ever-impressive seasonal event. The site is a place where guests can ride horses and take riding lessons usually, but every October it lends itself to become Orlando’s premier spot to pick a pumpkin for the autumn season. Located at 15100 Lake Pickett Road, Painted Oak Academy offers horse riding lessons, pony parties, weddings and a pumpkin patch. Boarding is also available at the ranch.
Picking pumpkins at Painted Oaks Academy is about $1 per pound and no cash will need to be exchanged. If you want to physically visit the pumpkin patch you can still do so for $5 adult entry and $3 for kids. Or the corn maze is accessible too, at $15 for adults and $10 per child.
As part of their autumn festivities, if you visit on the weekends, you’ll be able to enjoy live music and entertainment, food, dancing, hayrides, and so much more.

Painted Oaks Academy is owned and operated by husband and wife David and Lisa Ottersen. David was raised riding horses in Wisconsin, galloping across the rustic terrain and rambling rivers of the outland countryside. Life led him to marry animal-lover Lisa Hall, an equine enthusiast herself, and the opportunity came along for the two to operate a horse boarding and training facility of their very own. David and Lisa spend their days giving horse-riding lessons to students willing to learn and running the 100-acre ranch. Together, David and Lisa have two sons, Cameron and David.
